About Us

our Story

Since 1980

Parker’s Atelier is a home decoration and clothing store – offering a curated collection of wonderful things antique and contemporary. We are truly committed to slow fashion and all our designers are selected with this approach in mind.

Capturing the influences from my late Ma’s shop, Bellamys of Southsea and sourcing treasures from far and wide, the Atelier is a constantly evolving space.

We choose, collect and curate all of our items by combining old and new influences – be that a collection of ‘old friends’ or something bright, shiny and new.

We always try to have in stock a selection of vintage shells, a shelf of the books we love, Un Soir å L’Opera tattoo candles from Paris,  a Louis XV chair or two (adore the shape), lotions and potions and contemporary jewellery in both gold and silver.
In the Summertime we bring in lots of straw baskets and in the Winter, sheepskins and cashmeres.

Collaboration and the promotion of talent is very important to us and we’ll often showcase an artist or maker who catches our eye – opening with an exhibition of Piers Ottey landscapes confirmed our commitment to art in the space, and we have recently showcased some stunning work by the talented Sarah Burges, based in Lewes.

We take on interior projects and have transformed a Tudor castle to a Champagne bar – we believe in creating calm and considered spaces with an injection of fun, as things should never be taken too seriously.

The PARKER’S look forward to showing you their treasure.
